Welcoming New and Old Members to our Parish Community
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A)
St Augustine, a great Saint of the Church said “Our hearts are restless O Lord, until they rest in you.” The desire for God is written in the human heart, because humankind is created by God and for God; and God never ceases to draw all humankind to himself. Only in God will we find the truth and happiness we long for.
Any journey towards the Church is primarily a journey towards God. This journey towards God is found through Jesus Christ. He is the “Word made Flesh,” as St John says (Jn 1:14). He reveals God to us: “To see me is to see the Father” (Jn 14:9)
Many adults are welcomed into the Catholic Church each year through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). The RCIA is also known as the Catechumenate, an early church term that recognises a Catechumen as a non-baptised person preparing for Baptism and initiation into the Catholic Church.
Anyone interested in inquiring about the Catholic Faith is welcome to make contact with the Parish Priest by calling the parish office.
Catholics Returning Home
Catholics Returning Home is a six-week program that is offered by the parish to welcome Catholics home.
It is an entry point for returning Catholics and the emphasis in the sessions is about making them feel welcome, accepted and comfortable in rejoining the faith community and participating in its sacramental life.
Anyone interested in inquiring about the Returning Home program is welcome to make contact with the Parish Priest by phoning the parish office.
